Lemieux Landslide  Glissement de terrain Lemieux
A landslide which took place on June 20th 1993 adjacent to the location of the evacuated town of Lemieux, Ontario (45 km east of Ottawa). Cutbank erosion is thought to have contributed to the triggering of the liquefaction of underlying Leda Clay. The landslide caused 680 meters of retrogression and rejected nearly 3 million cubic meters of sediment in the South Nation River.
